- Rethinking the self: authors and the novel narratives of identity in the Eighteenth century.
Programma
Central to the course will be the study of D. Defoe, Roxana, or the Fortunate Mistress; H. Fielding, Tom Jones; L. Sterne, The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy. This module will investigate the cultural and intellectual issues shaping the three named novels. Attention will also be given to the poetry of the Eighteenth century.
